The Casa de Colón is a cultural institution located in the historic neighborhood of Vegueta, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain, and managed by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria. It is visited by over 110,000 people annually (over 90,000 foreign tourists and over 20,000 national tourists).
Opened in 1951, it is one of the most emblematic buildings in the city. Its scope focuses on the study, research and dissemination of the history of the Canary Islands and its relations with America. It houses a specialized Museum, Library and Study Center, as well as various spaces for temporary activities: courses, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, screenings, concerts, etc.

The Library
Specialized library in American History and its relations with the Canary Islands. The fund is made up of approximately 25,000 volumes, the part dedicated to Colombian History standing out for its interest for researchers.
DEAC - Education and Cultural Activities
The Casa de Colón organizes throughout the year a series of activities aimed at the conservation and research of the funds of its collection as well as the dissemination of them. For this, it organizes temporary exhibitions, normally thematic, and actions such as: guided tours, pedagogical workshops, educational cases, training courses, educational notebooks and material for teachers.
Research Promotion, witch organise events such as: Canarian-American History Colloquies, Atlantic Studies Yearbook, Viera y Clavijo, Canary-American Relations and Canary Islands-America Special Award
Courses, seminars and conferences.
Casa de Colón must be on the list of any tourist visiting, here, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
